2.Submission Guidelines

The call for papers for this conference will proceed in two stages:

  • Submission of proposed titles by March 10, 2025.
  • Submission of extended abstracts by May 10, 2025.

Details are as follows:

  1. Submission of Proposed Titles: Please submit your proposed presentation title (which can be adjusted at the time of final paper submission) by March 10, 2025, via the following link:

    For submissions from outside mainland China, it is essential to inform us your intent to participate and proposed presentation title by March 10 to allow the organisers sufficient time to process the international conference approval procedures.
  2. Submission of Extended Abstracts: Formal submissions will open around March 20, 2025, with a submission deadline of May 10, 2025. The conference accepts two types of submissions: <Research Paper Abstracts> and <Project Showcase Abstracts>. Based on the review results, accepted submissions will be scheduled for either oral presentations or poster sessions. Please proceed to Paper Submission to submit your work.
Specific Requirements for Research Paper Abstracts
  1. Submissions should be written in Chinese (1500–2500 characters) or English (1000–1500 words).
  2. A typical extended abstract should include the following sections:
    • Motivation (Why was this research conducted?)
    • Objective (What goals does the research aim to achieve?)
    • Process (How was the research conducted and validated?)
    • Main Results and Conclusion
      Please ensure the abstract does not exceed the specified word limits.
  3. Provide at least three keywords to facilitate classification of the submission. Keywords should be chosen carefully, as they will be used to assign reviewers.
  4. During the review phase, only extended abstracts will be accepted. Authors of selected abstracts will be notified to prepare posters.
  5. Formatting: Submissions should follow the guidelines for the journal Digital Humanities. Detailed requirements can be found at: https://shorturl.at/qIZXZ
  6. Papers that have already been published (including accepted) or submitted elsewhere will not be considered.

Specific Requirements for Project Demonstration Abstracts
  1. Project demonstration submissions include: Apps or computer software, technical platforms or products, interactive design works, AI-generated works, etc. The project must be operational and demonstrable or presented via recorded video if live demonstration is not feasible. The content should align with the theme of this conference.
  2. Submissions should be written in Chinese (1000–1500 characters) or English (750–1000 words) and typically include the following sections:
    • Motivation (Why was this project developed?)
    • Objective (What goals does the project aim to achieve, and who are the intended audiences?)
    • Process (How was the project developed, and what results were achieved?)
    • Main Results and Conclusion
      Please ensure the abstract does not exceed the specified word limits.
  3. Submissions should include screenshots reflecting the core features of the project, as well as a link to access the project (e.g., interactive applications or video clips).
  4. Indicate whether you wish to apply for the use of the electronic screen in the conference venue (specific fees to be announced).

4.Publication Opportunities

Outstanding submissions may be expanded into full papers and recommended for publication in the following prestigious journals. To encourage excellence in digital humanities research, the conference will collaborate with the Digital Humanities editorial board to organize a post-conference “Future Scholars Training Camp,” inviting outstanding paper authors to participate. Participants will have the opportunity to receive comprehensive guidance on academic paper writing and be recommended for publication in top-tier journals.
